Live Tourney scoring is now available inside Shot Pattern

Today we're launching an integration with Shot Pattern, the golf app built around shot data and on-course decision making. Players competing in a Live Tourney event can now enter scores and follow the live leaderboard without leaving the Shot Pattern app.

How it works

1. Open Shot Pattern and tap the Live Tourney button

2. Scan the QR code on your scorecard

3. Live scoring and the tournament leaderboard open right inside the app

That's the whole flow. No second app, no separate login, no switching back and forth between screens while your group waits on the tee.

Why this matters on the course

Competitive golfers already carry a lot on their phones. GPS for the hole in front of them. Green maps for the putt they're about to face. Shot tracking and strokes gained for everything they'll review afterward. Then a separate app entirely for the event they're actually playing in.

Shot Pattern does the first part exceptionally well. Tour-quality green maps, custom yardage books, hole-by-hole wind and weather, and shot pattern data that used to require a coach and a spreadsheet to assemble.

Live Tourney runs the event.

Until now those two things lived in different places. A player standing on an unfamiliar course would pull up Shot Pattern to figure out the hole, play it, then close the app and open something else to post the score. Every hole, all day.

Now it's one app. You're already looking at the hole. Post your group's scores, check where you stand, get back to your round.

What this means for tournament directors

Nothing changes on your end. Your Live Tourney scorecards already carry the QR code that makes this work. Players who use Shot Pattern will simply have a better experience, and players who don't will keep scoring exactly the way they do today.

If your field skews toward competitive or data-minded golfers, this is worth mentioning in your player communications before the event. It takes one line: "If you use Shot Pattern, you can scan your scorecard QR and score right in the app."

A note on how this came together

I've followed Eric Duffett's work on Shot Pattern for a while. We connected over the past year while we were both building golf companies on the side, and it was clear early on that these products belonged together.

Our players had been asking us for green maps and more detailed shot data. We could have built some version of that. But Shot Pattern had already built it well, and shipping a worse copy of someone else's core product is a poor use of a small team's time. Pointing our players toward a tool that's genuinely better made more sense than competing with it.

That's the kind of integration we want to keep doing. Live Tourney runs tournaments. We'd rather connect to the tools golfers already love than try to absorb every feature they ask for.
